Comcast shut the studio doors on Access 4 on December 4th, 2009.
Some Community Producers have banded together to form a non-profit charity and help set up productions to replace the previous Comcast studio. A fundraising effort is currently underway to pay for a year's lease for a location for a public studio and home for the remaining equipment that was given to the group by the City when Comcast turned over management of channel 4 to the municipality.
This is a formative time for the group as they confer with the City of Springfield and the other producers and suppporters on how to proceed.
The election of three officers for the non-profit has taken place and 501 c3 determination letter has now been received from the IRS.
