> 2/6/08 - AUCTION & WEBSITE: "Return of the Patriot," Giclée 18" X 24" 1st Edition 2 of 100 Sells with Only One Bid, Two Newly Discovered Ron Paul Paintings!

The last auction for "Return of the Patriot" has ended with a final bid of only $40.00. This is a huge dip from what they were going for. There were 5 watchers and a total of 124 people came through, 20 came through within the last hour but the bid still remained at the starting point. You can view the results here.

Perhaps this is because of Super Tuesday. I don't think we should give up on this movement, however. I have read reports that there may be a brokered convention and also that no matter what happened yesterday, no candidate has it mathematically sewn up yet. None-the-less I will definately have to wait before posting 1st Edition One of One Hundred which I was going to offer at a higher starting bid because the first in an edition is always considered the most valuable of the edition. I have decided to wait until all orders have been shipped and the profits have been tallied before running that auction. Keep visiting this website to stay updated on when that auction will go up.

Sergio Paez
Sergio Paez of San Fransisco standing next to his new Portrait of Ron Paul

In the meantime, I have discovered a painter from San Fransisco, Sergio Paez, who has painted a wonderful portrait of Ron Paul which we will be featuring on this site. His first auction started at $200 but had no bidders, you can see the auction results here. He is currently having giclée prints made and will be running more auctions very soon which we will track on this website so stay tuned for more on that as well as more giclées of my painting, "Return of the Patriot." Both paintings can be seen in our gallery here.

There is also another wonderful Ron Paul painting in our gallery that was sent to us from one of the meetup groups in Illinois. No one seems to know who the artist is, however, so if anyone knows please help us get in contact with them by contacting us here at the site.

Please send any information, questions, or suggestions to eted[at]thespectra[dot]net. (Alternate contact info available at www.TedKeylon.com )

> 2/5/08 - DONATIONS & KUDOS: 33% From Now On To the Campaign! New Kudos thread on Bulletin Board, New shipping flat rate for U.S.

It became too difficult to calculate the staggered percentages based on print size so I have decided to make a flat percentage of 33% on all profits to go to the campaign to be applied retroactively to all the auction sales from the beginning. Speaking of flat rates, RMD Gallery, my local dealer, has decided to have a flat rate for shipping within the United States of $25 per stretched canvas (paper rates will be chosen soon). If the shipping happens to go over that we will absorb the costs ourselves. International orders will still be calculated as needed.

I have started a Kudos thread on the bulletin board for people who give me compliments on eBay but have not joined the board and posted them. This way you still get to see what people are saying even if they do not have the opportunity to register on the board and post it. The exact thread is here.

The new auction currently running is for 18" X 24" 1st Edition Two of One Hundred. At this time there is 1 bid, $40.00 and there are currently 3 watchers. Click here to go to this auction. (18" X 24" 1st Edition One of One Hundred will be auctioned next at a slightly higher opening bid amount to be announced.)

The painting itself, a 36" X 48" (3' X 4') canvas, has been photographed for the production of giclée prints on stretched canvas. The giclées will be auctioned on eBay as well as sold directly off of this site in the days ahead.

Full explanations of the giclée process and the donation schemes for both the prints as well as the original painting can be found in the About and Donations sections of this website and the bulletin board and gallery for discussion and showing of other Ron Paul artwork has been set up and is now ready for submissions.

> 1/21/08 - THE PAINTING: "Return of the Patriot" comes back from Photographer

I spoke with Robert DeLong of RMD Gallery today to check on the progress of the photograph of my painting, "Return of the Patriot," and he says it will be ready tomorrow, January 22nd.

As soon as I get the file from Mr. DeLong on CDR, I will set up the first auction. Already he says he has had favorable comments on the painting coming from people who recognized Congressman Paul and one in particular said it was an excellent likeness.

This is a good sign in my opinion. The painting itself, a 36" X 40" (3' X 4') canvas, is to be photographed in preparation for the production of giclée prints on stretched canvas. The giclées will be auctioned on eBay as well as sold directly off of this site with 20% of the after-cost profit going directly to the Ron Paul Campaign website at RonPaul2008.com.

Full explanations of the giclée process and the donation schemes for both the prints as well as the original painting can be found in the About and Donations sections of this website and the bulletin board and gallery for discussion and showing of other Ron Paul artwork has been set up and is now ready for submissions.

Also, today is the third major "moneybomb" for the Ron Paul Campaign and I have placed a graph in the left-hand column showing the up to the minute results. You can refresh this page, click the auto-refresh (every five minutes) on the graph, or watch it from ronpaulgraphs.com here or by clicking on the graph itself.
