     Welcome to the website
of the Vinegar Hill Neighborhood Association (formerly Central City Neighborhood Association).

Vinegar Hill Neighborhood Association territory dates back to the start of the 20th century. Around the transition from the 1890s and well into the new century, a large section of our territory along Lawrence, south of the then-new Illinois State Capitol complex was known as the Vinegar Hill district. In June, members of the Central City Neighborhood responded to our vice president Bill Castor's suggestion by approving an association name change to reflect our appreciation of our rich historical heritage.

Our association territory is bordered by the north side of South Grand, on the north by Jefferson, on the west by the east side of Walnut, and east up the side streets off 1st Street to Second. We consider ourselves lucky to live in this part of our terrific city.

VHNA dues are $10 per calendar year, January through December.

Our mailing address is
VHNA/CCNA
P.O. Box 1026
Springfield, IL 62705

The future of this territory is at stake. Don't fritter away your future and ours by staying home.
